John Muffler, MS, CTM, Principal of Aequitas Global Security, LLC, is a strategic consultant for judicial officers, high-visibility clients in government, education, entertainment, and private sectors, on anti-assassination strategies and the assessment and management of situations that might pose a hazard to their safety or well-being.

He oversees Gavin de Becker’s MOSAIC Threat Assessment System, holds certification in threat management through the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals; served on the Executive Board of the International Association of Chiefs of Police IMPACT Section; is faculty to national judicial education organizations and is a member of the American Bar Association’s Judicial Division security committee.

John has testified and consulted on the merits of Daniel’s Law to state legislative bodies. He has developed and delivered nationally recognized programs on violent extremism, safety for victims of domestic violence, active threat preparedness, and the protection of the judicial process.

John is the recipient of the Honorable V. Robert Payant Award for Teaching Excellence by the National Judicial College and the American Security Today’s Award for Excellence in Public Safety. He is an alum of Naval Postgraduate School’s Executive Leaders Program and holds a master’s degree from St. Joseph’s University.
